
Ballet Program (Ages 2 ½–18)
Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles, building strength, grace, and discipline. Our program emphasizes proper technique, musicality, and artistry, helping dancers develop strong foundations, whether they are just beginning or advancing toward pre-professional opportunities. Students gain poise, confidence, and a lasting appreciation for the art of classical ballet.
Early Childhood Ballet
- Early Steps (Ages 2 ½–4) – An introduction to movement, rhythm, and coordination through playful ballet-based activities.
- Pre-Ballet (Ages 4–6) – Builds rhythm, balance, flexibility, coordination, and spatial awareness while nurturing creativity and confidence.
- Preparatory (Ages 6–8) – Develops fundamental ballet vocabulary, strength, and focus, preparing dancers for the Conservatory Program.
Conservatory Program (Ballet I–VIII)
For dancers ages 8–18, the Conservatory offers a progressive curriculum designed to support artistic and technical excellence. Training includes:
- Classical Ballet Technique
- Pointe (as appropriate for age and readiness)
- Variations
- Classical Duos (introductory Pas de Deux)
- Neoclassical Movement Styles
- Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) conditioning
Levels:
- Ballet I (Ages 8–9)
- Ballet II (Ages 9–10)
- Ballet III (Ages 10–11)
- Ballet IV-VIII (Ages 12–18 and/or Pre-Professional)
Age ranges are approximate; placement is based on teacher evaluation.
Ballet for Adults (Ages 18 and up)
It is never too late to experience the beauty of ballet. Our adult program is welcoming, supportive, and tailored for all levels—whether you are brand new to dance or returning after years away. Students build strength, flexibility, and balance while enjoying the artistry of ballet in an encouraging, low-pressure environment. Adult ballet is also a meaningful way to stay active, reduce stress, and connect with a like-minded community.
Open Adult Ballet
- Beginner/Open Level (Ages 18+) – For adults with little to no prior ballet experience, or for those returning to class after a long break. Focuses on posture, alignment, and simple combinations that build confidence and enjoyment.
- Intermediate/Advanced (Ages 18+) – For experienced adults seeking a higher level of challenge and artistry. Emphasis on technique, musicality, and performance quality.
Lifestyle-Friendly Adult Classes
For adults ages 30 and up, we also offer classes designed specifically for those who want to embrace ballet as part of a balanced lifestyle. These classes are ideal for:
- Stay-at-home parents looking for a creative outlet
- Work-from-home professionals seeking movement and stress relief
- Adults who danced in their youth and would like to return
- Anyone who has always wanted to try ballet in a supportive setting
These lifestyle-focused classes emphasize fitness, artistry, and joy rather than performance goals, making them an uplifting and inclusive experience for all.
Tap (Ages 3–18)
Tap is a high-energy, rhythmic style that combines movement with musicality. Students learn to use their feet like instruments, creating sounds and patterns that enhance coordination, timing, and stage presence. Tap is fun, engaging, and an excellent way to build rhythm and performance skills.
Program Structure:
- Combo Ballet & Tap (Ages 3–6) – Tap is introduced within the ballet class, supporting early coordination and rhythm while complementing foundational ballet training.
- Tap I (Ages 7–8) – Focus on basic tap steps, clarity of sounds, and simple combinations.
- Tap Junior (Ages 8–11) – Builds stronger rhythm, musicality, and performance quality through more complex sequences.
- Tap Teen (Ages 12–18) – Emphasizes advanced rhythms, syncopation, and expressive performance, giving teens a dynamic outlet for creativity.
Contemporary (Ages 11+)
Contemporary dance blends ballet, jazz, and modern techniques into an expressive and fluid style. This class encourages creativity, freedom of movement, and emotional expression while reinforcing strong technical training. Contemporary helps dancers connect artistry with storytelling through movement, giving them a powerful way to explore and perform.
Acro (Ages 5–10)
Acro is a dynamic class that combines dance with acrobatic elements. Students build flexibility, strength, balance, and control while learning safe progressions for skills such as rolls, handstands, and aerial work. Acro enhances coordination and adds exciting versatility to every dancer’s repertoire.
BodyWorks (Ages 10+)
BodyWorks is a conditioning program designed to strengthen and align the dancer’s body. Classes focus on core strength, flexibility, posture, and injury prevention, supporting dancers in every style of movement. This program is ideal for improving technique and overall fitness, both in and out of the studio.
Adaptive Ballet (Ages 3+)
Adaptive Ballet is designed to celebrate every dancer’s unique abilities. With a nurturing approach, we adapt ballet and creative movement to support students with diverse physical, developmental, or learning needs. The class focuses on building confidence, coordination, and joy through dance in a safe and supportive environment.
